4 children injured in DUI crash

Four children sustained injuries after the driver of their car crashed due to drunken driving in Springfield on October 12, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The crash occurred at around 11:45 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Exit 3. The vehicle that the children were in rolled over on Interstate 291 after it collided with another car. The children, ages 1 to 10, were taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The male driver of the car with the children was charged with DUI. The female driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.
