Attorney Powderly’s Client Found Not Guilty On All Counts

After a two day jury trial at the Fall River Justice Center, Attorney Powderly’s client was found Not Guilty on all counts.  Just prior to the commencement of trial, the prosecutor dismissed two other counts that were originally charged.  The defendant had been accused of brandishing a firearm during a robbery  in Somerset.  He gave a recorded interview to the police indicating he, along with a few other individuals, had planned a drug rip off and that he was admitted present when the altercation took place.  The alleged victims had accused the defendant of threatening them with a gun and taking part in the stealing of their cash and other property.   In addition to the three alleged victims, the prosecutor called two Somerset police officers who testified against the defendant.  Initially charged with two counts of Robbery, Attempted Robbery and Conspiracy, the prosecutor went forward at trial with two counts of Larceny from a Person.
