A man from Worcester has been accused of drunk driving with two children in the vehicle after he was involved in a three-car crash on Tuesday.
According to local police, the accident occurred in Sturbridge on the Massachusetts Turnpike when the man made a quick turn onto the exit ramp while traveling in his minivan. When doing this, he was struck by a tractor trailer that was unable to stop in time.
This impact caused the man’s van to be pushed into a third vehicle. Officials reported that there were no injuries in the accident, but police did find two empty beer cans inside the minivan.
The man submitted to a breathalyzer test, and it was found that his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit. The man plead not guilty to the DUI and child endangerment charges. This was the man’s second drunk driving offense.
