Suspected pedophile, Anthony Scarano, 51, of New Jersey, who was charged with sexual exploitation of a child in February, finally had his first court date on Monday to evaluate his charge, which is specifically for creating child pornography by swapping sexual pictures and videos with a 14-year-old teenage girl from Cape Cod.
Scarano met the victimized girl on a porn site in the fall of 2010, but it wasn’t until November 2012 that the victim’s foster mother and social worker found explicit pictures on the girl’s iPhone and gave the phone to the Cape Cod Computer Crime Unit, which then sought the help of the U.S. Postal Inspector Service.
Scarano also confessed to several other indiscretions, including a physical interaction with another 15-year-old girl in New York and talking inappropriately to a close friend’s teenage daughter.
Scarano’s probable cause hearing has been set for March 22.
