State Trooper involved in accident, charged with DUI

An off-duty police officer in Massachusetts who was involved in an accident in North Andover was recently arrested after he was suspected of driving while intoxicated, wpri.com reported on May 3.

The incident occurred at around 1:00 a.m. on Route 114 near Sharpners Pond Road when Trooper Dale Jenkins was involved in a single-vehicle accident while driving his personal vehicle. A male passenger in Jenkins’ vehicle, whose name was withheld, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Jenkins was charged with driving under the influence, and his status will be evaluated at an internal police hearing soon.
