Two suspected drug dealers arrested in Springfield

Two suspected drug dealers were arrested in Springfield, Massachusetts during an entrapment operation through which authorities recovered more than $22,000 in cash, thousands of bags containing heroin, and several firearms, ABC 40 reported on January 23.

Reports said George Delgado, 49, and Samuel Velez, 46, both from Springfield, were arrested. The two were stopped by police as they were about to leave their alleged “hideout” on Westminster Street. Authorities reportedly confiscated 2,387 bags of heroin, cash worth $22,565, and three semiautomatic firearms from Delgado and Velez. Multiple drug and heavy firearms-related charges were filed against the two suspects.
