San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald was arrested in San Jose after he was suspected of assaulting his pregnant fiance on August 31, the Daily News stated.
Authorities reportedly arrested McDonald at his San Jose home at around 2:00 a.m. while throwing a party for his upcoming 30th birthday. McDonald was charged with felony domestic violence and held at Santa Clara County Jail. The arrest was only three days after the NFL decided to impose stricter penalties for players accused of domestic violence. McDonald was later released from jail after posting a $25,000 bail.
