SOMERSET- Four men were arrested and charged with armed robbery and after a confrontation on May 26 behind the Chase Street School. Three men, ages 19, 20 and 21, told police that they had been called by a friend, who invited them to the Chase Street School to smoke marijuana. When they arrived, they met the friend, Andrew Veloso, 19, of 10 Burke St., Swansea, who was accompanied by four other men, police report. One of those men took the marijuana from the three men who traveled to the school, and the men with Veloso left, police allege. Police allege the robbers returned moments later and demanded that the three victims turn over the cash and drugs they had. One of those robbers lifted his shirt to show a handgun, police allege. Officer Peter Massa and Detective Jason Matos began the investigation, aided by Swansea and Fall River Police. Three of the alleged robbers were arrested early on the morning of May 27 in Somerset. Fall River Officers Brett Kimball and Kevin Bshara arrested a fourth man on June 1. All four men will be charged with two counts of robbery and with conspiracy. Besides Veloso, the men arrested are Terelly Cruz-Dubois, 17, 229 Osborn St., Fall River; Jeremy Lolio, 17, 4000 N. Main St., Fall River; and Jacob G. Viveiros, 19, 569 Locust St., Swansea. If indicted on the armed robbery charges, they will face trial in Superior Court.
