On April 21, the legal counsel of singer Justin Bieber requested that a court in Miami postpone the pop star’s trial date, currently set for May 5.
The lawyers for 20-year-old Bieber reportedly said they are requesting to extend their time because they need more time to adequately prepare their case. Authorities apprehended the singer last January in Miami Beach after he was involved in what police described as an illegal street race. Urine tests revealed that the singer had both anti-anxiety medications and marijuana in his system at the time of the arrest. Charges of driving under the influence, driving on an expired license, and resisting arrest were filed against him.
