The Cleveland Cavaliers recently confirmed that Iman Shumpert was apprehended last month due to a suspicion that he was under the influence of intoxicants while operating a vehicle, a September 9 article of New York Post reported.
According to an incident report, the 26-year-old was driving outside Atlanta on August 10 when he was stopped by authorities after he was seen violating a traffic law. Upon apprehension, Fayette County officers noted several signs that Shumpert was under the influence of marijuana. Documents revealed that Shumpert told authorities that he had smoked marijuana before he was stopped. Shumpert reportedly had difficulty completing a field sobriety test and authorities also seized marijuana from his possession. Due to his actions, Shumpert is expected to be suspended from participating in any upcoming games for the team.
