24-year-old R&B star Chris Brown, who was involved in a minor car altercation with a woman in May, has been charged by the Los Angeles City attorney with a hit and run offense on Tuesday, June 25. Police records show that Brown allegedly left the scene of the accident without giving any insurance information or even a valid driver’s license to the female victim.
The Los Angeles City attorney has forwarded the issue to the county district attorney for investigation of a potential violation of the conditions set in his ongoing probation related to the assault case against girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown argued over his twitter account that he had a valid driver’s license and gave the woman correct information. He also stated that he believed she was simply trying to get extra money from him.
If found guilty of probation violation, Brown will face a prison term of up to 4 years.
