Former NFL player Dana Stubblefield is facing numerous charges of sexual assault, including rape by force or violence and oral copulation of a person incapable of giving consent.
The 45-year-old former defensive lineman’s DNA matched the sample taken from the “developmentally disabled woman” who immediately reported that Stubblefield raped her on April 9, 2015. The woman claimed the assault occurred after she visited Stubblefield’s home to interview for a position as a nanny. Stubblefield’s defense attorney argued that the incident was a “consensual encounter.” If found guilty of the charges he faces, Stubblefield, who was being held on a bail of $250,000, may face over 16 years in prison.
