Man suspected of assaulting police facing charge in Hyannis

A man being treated at a hospital in Cape Cod was recently charged after allegedly attacking a police officer while armed with a deadly weapon, Cape Cod Times reported on October 21.

Reports said Cape Cod Hospital patient Jonathan Idoria, 30, became hostile on October 20 while being treated for a drug overdose. When police came to the hospital after reports that Idoria was acting aggressively, Idoria reportedly yelled at them and attempted to avoid arrest. Idoria, who was fighting against officers trying to get him into the patrol vehicle, ceased his attempts to resist after an arresting officer used a stun gun on him. Several charges related to the incident were later filed against Idoria, Barnstable District Court papers said.
