According to a CBS News article, television personality and chef Michael Chiarello was taken into custody after highway authorities in California suspected him of driving while under the influence of intoxicants.
Information coming from the California Highway Patrol revealed around 3:30 a.m. on November 2, police stopped a Porsche Boxster on Silverado Trail, several miles from a restaurant owned by Chiarello in Yountville. Reports confirmed the chef, 54, was the driver of the vehicle and later he was charged with DUI and drug possession. The chef was later released from custody after being booked, reports said. Chiarello’s spokesperson, Terry Fahn, told reports the chef was embarrassed by what happened to him and decided to contest the misdemeanor charges he was facing.
