A man who was suspected of robbing a jewelry store in Hyannis was recently arrested and charged. Information coming from the Barnstable Police Department revealed that an officer arrested James Anderson on January 7 after he was suspected of stealing jewelry worth up to $10,000 from a local K-Mart.
Authorities identified Anderson through video footage from the surveillance camera installed in the store and parking lot. Anderson, 65, was then apprehended at about 11:00 p.m. on the same day by Officer Joseph Green. Aside from his vehicle, Anderson was recognized by authorities due to the fact that he was wearing the same distinctive beanie that the perpetrator wore in surveillance videos. A larceny charge was filed against Anderson and a cash bail of $540 was set.
